To celebrate Mother’s Day, SM Megamall had an event giving makeovers to guests held at the Mega Fashion Hall last 8th May. The event had top makeup artists from the Philippines share tips on the stage for different looks such as casual days-off, denim wear, nights out and special occasions.
I was privileged to be chosen as the model for Ms. Cristine Duque, a renowned makeup artist. I was also asked to grace the fashion show as the muse for the bridal show. (It’s been years since I walked in a fashion show having focused in commercials but it felt fun to walk on the runway and pose for 5 seconds).
Well for me, it was like a big reunion as I had worked with most makeup artists before and continue to follow them on Instagram. I was like a fan, taking selfies with everyone and having a good catch up. The event was promoting how moms (or ladies overall) can get the look they want without spending a fortune on makeup, something I am guilty of (but now I’m all about saving).
All the makeup used in my particular beauty look were affordable high-street brands. A tip from Ms. Cristine is to always bring Evian water spray, a necessity to keep the makeup fresh. While having my makeup done, I realized there are many dupes now available in SM beauty store, achieving the looks of top celebs and models is now made even easier for the ever modern day Filipina.
