As you know, Valentine’s Day is coming up! The annual holiday that started in the 19th century, in which many romantics exchange gifts and go on fancy dates to communicate their love and affection. But I’m sure there are many single ladies and men out there who might want to celebrate this day differently. And no, I don’t mean sit at home and cry about being single, while trolling loving couples online with a box of chocolates you might have "gifted" yourself with (although, I may have done all of these pitiful things a year or two ago.  But trust me, it’s not that much fun!)

With this in mind and a more positive outlook on this Day of Love, I created a list of fun things for a single person to do.

    1)     Take a trip down to Te Amo Floresteria and get yourself some flowers.

Because you know you deserve it and you don’t really need a reason to get the loveliest flowers in Manila!

    2)     With or without a friend, you should definitely treat yourself to a nice dinner.

My top picks would be at Spiral’s At Sofitel Manila, Vask Modern Tapas & Gastronomic Cuisine. They have a special menu for this day and you don’t need a date to enjoy good food! Just remember to book a few weeks in advance.

    3)     Hey, you’re single right? You might be interested in finding love in the club.

Okay…maybe not, but why not celebrate with other single people out there? On Saturday (Feb 11), while you party, you may want to visit the marriage booth in Pool Club with your new friend, or visit the kissing booth in Valkyrie.

    THE PALACE POOL CLUB
9th Ave cor 36th Street, Uptown Bonifacio, Taguig, Metro Manila
    Mobile: +63 917 689-8888
Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday: 5 pm onwards, Sunday: 3 pm onwards

If all else fails, you can vegge out. Get some takeout and watch your favorite films at home. Hang out with your buddies and blow off some steam you’ve been getting from all of those people who talk your ear off about love and hearts and kisses, and other gross things!

HAVE A BLAST AND HAVE A HAPPY VALENTINE'S!

    Sincerely,

    Jacqueline Dizon

(Not a hater of love. Just putting that out there!)
