Earlier this month, I got to experience the World Street Food Congress 2017 here in Manila, created by KF Seetoh held at Mall Of Asia Open Grounds. Aside from that I had the pleasure to meet Mr. Seetoh himself, too. I found out he is not only a foodie, he is also a photojournalist, entrepreneur as well as philanthropist and is the founder of Makansutra restaurant, which is located in SM Megamall.
His passion of street food and belief of how a simple meal can bring a family together, even if that's all they can afford at this time, strikes the heart of many of us. For him, the simplicity of the meal still represents getting your food requirements and family time in, which is something that represents most Southeast Asian families.
There were many stalls present, and I was lucky enough to sample a lot of different foods -- from finger food, burgers, pizzas to even desserts. The event was really interesting and incorporated the theme "reimagining possibilities", a foodie haven and a place to expand ones' palette. It was a great place to grab lunch in the summer heat of Manila.
KF Seetoh showed his passion today and shared it with many. He may now have many titles but KF Seetoh will be remembered as the storyteller who loves street food.
