"..Always give everything a shot because if you don't try you'll never know." - Annie, Rachel Peters' mother

The best life advice my mum ever gave me was to always give everything a shot, because if you don't try you'll never know.

It was my family who encouraged me to join Binibining Pilipinas because I've always been taught to never leave room for regrets. I thank God everyday for giving me an ever supportive family and for the blessings coming my way now. I'm excited to be representing the Philippines in Miss Universe at the end of the year.

The best beauty hack my mum has shared with me is the power of coconut oil! I use it for everything! On my hair, as a make up remover, moisturizer, homemade  scrub--you name it!

"Take care of your body from within. Treat it as a temple" - Agnes, Margo Midwinter's mother

My mother is strong- having left her family in the Philippines at a young age to work abroad. It was harder that time as there was no Facebook, IG, video calls, messenger but she stayed in touch through snail mail and using a public telephone. Now that I am living away from my family. My mum taught me to be strong and to strive hard to achieve my goals in life.

In terms of beauty, my mummy taught me to take care of my body from within- to treat it as a temple and she reminds me to always eat fresh fruits and vegetables and take vitamins for my skin as well as immune system.

"Never underestimate the power of the mind. Think it, believe in it, focus on it and it will happen." - Candy, Jacqui Dizon's mother

When you start with your beautification process, always have a good and positive outlook as a base. It is an automatic glow to the finished look.

One life advice: Never underestimate the power of the mind. Think it, believe in it and focus on it and it will happen.

''If there is a will, there is a way'' - Diana, Jenny Rockett's mother

Life lesson from my mum: ''I truly believe that 'if there is a will, there is a way...That and to "always have a positive mindset in life.''

"..More than giving her two cents, my mom led by example. I now realize it was who she was on the inside that made her glow perpetually." - Georgia, on Cecilia, her Mom

My mom has this awesome silly side - when my sisters and I were young, she would always tell us that smoking and drinking too much would speed up the aging process. She said it would kill our lungs and livers and worse of all, ruin our skin, giving us wrinkles and fine lines. I remember my dad looking at her like she was insane (he was a smoker back then) and she copied the inhaling motion and crinkled her face to look crazy. For 5 year old me, that made sense and stuck!
Looking back, I think that was just her way of scaring us into not picking up these vices and it must've worked because none of us girls ever smoked cigarettes nor do we overdo our alcohol intake. Her beauty tips always went beyond what is skin deep. So these little pieces of advice, essentially were all life lessons. It would be hard to pinpoint the best one.

I will say this though - more than giving her two cents, my mom led by example. She still does. She never really had to try hard to be beautiful, she just was. And I now realize it was who she was on the inside that made her glow perpetually.
