Where was SunLife Organics when I was in college?!

This really would have helped during my ‘Freshman 15’ phase that lasted my entire first, and partly second, year at Pepperdine University.

What used to be a Mexican taqueria (you can just imagine how many cheese quesadillas I inhaled…) is now a healthy oasis for mindful and conscious eating.

    Oh, how times change.

After hiking Paramount Ranch with my family, we drove over to the Malibu Country Mart to continue our day of outdoorsy and healthful adventures in the ‘bu. I insisted that we all sit in the succulent garden and reminisce over the days when studying for finals was our biggest worry in life. Cue another Oh, how times change…

I absolutely digged this place and spent worthwhile minutes browsing their selection of options before I ordered -- fresh juice, pressed juice, nut milks, wellness shots, custom smoothies, protein shakes, super food shakes, and bowls. In addition, they have salads, soups, sandwiches and even frozen yogurt and sundaes! I settled on a Wolverine shake [banana, raw almond butter, dates, coconut, maca, raw cacao, bee pollen, royal jelly, almond milk] and a Hawaiian bowl [acai sorbet topped with granola, hemp seeds, banana, strawberry, coconut]. Trust me, our trek was intense and super duper hot.

I love how Los Angeles is interspersed with places like SunLife Organics, which has a simple mission to love, heal and inspire.

Already dreaming of when I can return.
