The Pantone Color of the Year is... *drumroll*... "GREENERY"!

A vibrant bright green that makes you think of buds of fresh leaves sprouting from the soil in the springtime. A zesty colored green, somewhere between a Lime and a Fern green. I must be honest, if you had asked me how I felt about this color a year ago I probably would have shook my head "no" in disapproval. I have always been more into the deep greens, an olive or emerald  type of person, but have never really been much of a bright green fan. But this is the type of color that the more you look at it, the more it grows on you.

I have been seeing this shade more and more in interiors, and it definitely adds freshness and life to a home. But besides the interior design, I've realized that most homes already have a bit of 'Greenery', thanks to the actual greens they have displayed. A home always feels much more cozy and warm with some fresh foliage. So, if you are fixing up a new space this year, or want to give it a fresh new look, think about adding some touches of Greenery -- perhaps on an accent wall, throw pillows, or maybe an accent chair.

Wondering what to pair it with? On the Pantone website, they give you a list of the best color combinations for "Greenery". "Analogous" would be my pick, as the colors are all so different yet match perfectly because of their subdued tones.

"Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.” - Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute
