This September, five of my childhood friends from England came to visit me here in the Philippines. I was in charge of arranging their vacation, and their criteria was: nice beach, lots of activities & good nightlife. So, Boracay was the obvious choice.
This is what we got up to....
1) Jet Skiing
This was a brilliant experience especially because there were six of us, so we were able to speed around together and race. Most people selling jet ski excursions were trying to charge us P2500+, but we ended up paying P1800 each for 30 minutes. (30 minutes is perfect in my opinion, your arms and legs will get tired).
Apparently there are 2 types of ATV tours in Boracay: one that takes you to a viewing point of the island, and another one off-road. We did the road tour up to the viewing point which was still fun but we would have liked more time driving. All in all, we were probably only riding for 20 minutes.
3) Go Karting
When we got back from the ATV tour we were still itching to drive and we saw the Go-Kart track! One of my friends is a Rally Driver so he was very keen for us to do this! It turned out to be a thrilling experience, and we got really good value for our money, paying only P600 for half an hour.
4) Island Hopping (Cliff Jumping/Sailing/Snorkelling)
We got friendly with one of the servers at a bar one night and he said he could arrange island hopping for us. He actually helped us with the ATVing and Go-Karting, too.
This was by far the best day out. It was a chance to see the breathtaking beauty of the island in full. Between six of us, we paid P3000 which is only P500 each for an amazing four hours.
Firstly, we went cliff diving, which was conveniently only a 20 minute ride away, and they offered many different diving boards, ranging from 3m to 10m. We went straight for the 10m one. It is a lot higher than it looks!
Next, we went snorkelling. This was a spectacular experience, especially for my friends who have never seen such a dense population of marine life in one area. Truly unforgettable!
Finally, went for Filipino food on a secluded island with a stunning view. The perfect way to end a good day out.
