Just like any genre of movie, sports films have been known to bring viewers to tears just as easily as they can leave you inspired or crying from laughter.

The following are my favorite sports flicks:

    The Sandlot (1993)

Arguably my favorite movie of all time, The Sandlot features a rag-tag group of kids who love the game of baseball who find themselves in a series of ‘pickles’ during one summer. Filled with classic one-liners, childhood puppy-love, and everything in between; this flick will have you laughing from beginning to end.

    Blue Chips (1994)

Nick Nolte, Shaquille O’Neal, Penny Hardaway, star in this 90’s movie that covers the good, the bad, and the ugly of college basketball. Nolte, plays the role of a head coach, who finds himself being pressured by supporters to produce a winning team. Western University’s hunger for success tests the coaching staff’s morality and belief systems to the edge.

    White Men Can’t Jump (1992)

If you call yourself a basketball fan, there is about a 90% (I hope 99%) chance that you've seen this movie. Filled with some of the best trash talking you’ll ever hear (for its time), Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson go from rivals to friends on the summer basketball ‘hustle’ circuit. Oh and how can I forget...Rosie Perez!

    .

    Any Given Sunday (1999)

Take all the headlines you read about in professional football and put them all together in a two hour movie and Any Given Sunday is what you get. For me, this ranks towards the top because of the cinematography during the actual playing scenes. Not to mention one of the best locker room speeches in any sports movie.

    .

Oh, and a movie starring Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, and Al Pacino is always worth watching.

     Rocky (1976 to Creed)

C’mon, need I say more. It’s Rocky, choose any one of the legendary series and you can’t go wrong!

Honorable Mention (in no particular order):

    -Remember The Titans

    -Miracle

    -The Program

    -Above The Rim

    -Might Ducks

    -Ali

    -Hoop Dreams

    -Rudy

    -He Got Game

    -Field of Dreams
